Chiantel Davis Beaumont, LMT, NCTMB, ESMT, IAAMT
After practicing for over 25 years in both Maryland and Maine, I have developed a blend of modalities in order to tailor sessions for each client-- Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue, Swedish Massage, and Sports Massage in different combinations creates a bodywork experience as unique as each individual. Being an equestrian myself, I understand the biomechanics of the horse and rider team intimately. Nothing compares to the power of human touch, which provides muscle relaxation, improves range of motion, reduces inflammation, promotes healing processes, enhances muscle tone, increases synovial fluid production and helps improve the body's (horse and human!) overall sense of well-being. The goal is to achieve a balance that allows the body to maintain optimum health and help heal faster when injured, whether human or equine. I regularly work with veterinarians, farriers and chiropractors (both human and veterinary) to help my clients feel their best and maintain top performance. I practice primarily in Maryland but make farm calls throughout the mid-Atlantic region (and visits to various areas/farms/tracks up and down the east coast!).
I was a State and Nationally Certified (LMT, NCTMB) Massage Therapist (inactive status as I no longer maintain a human clientele!), and a current Equissage certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist, and member of IAAMT (International Association of Animal Massage Therapists). I studied microbiology at the University of Maine and interned at Merck in Rahway, NJ. After relocating to Maryland, I worked both at Becton Dickinson in Hunt Valley, MD, and at Army Research Labs in Adelphia, MD. I attended the Baltimore School of Massage, completing the course for Massage for Medical Settings, and shared an office with two chiropractors for seven years. I also studied equine massage with Mary Schrieber at Equissage in Round Hill, VA. I was lucky enough to grow up with a couple veterinarians as my "horse parents" who took me on calls with them whenever I was out of school (and sometimes instead of school when there was an interesting case) from the time I was 12 years old, and I worked both at their horse farm and vet practice. That experience and knowledge is invaluable to me.
